The Navy - 750 ml
$90.00
Since the 17th century, gin has been closely associated with the Royal Navy who would load cases of the spirit for the voyage ahead. At this time, the most common way to test spirit strength was to mix a small amount with gunpowder and put a flame to it. If the gunpowder burned, the alcohol was deemed to be of sufficient strength. In the early 19th century a more accurate measure became possible and the Navy set the strength of their alcohol at 57% or thereabouts. Ruin’s Navy Strength expression is 60%, with a profile evocative of sea-whipped travel to far off lands. Showcasing ginger, cocoa nibs, cubeb berries, NZ sea-salt and a small dash of piracy, Ruin’s Navy is, quite simply, a very fine tot. Make the Navy the hero in your next cocktail creation.
